Our Team

Managing Director 

Nicole is widely recognised as one of Perth’s most senior and experienced communication professionals.  Her extensive career has involved working in Australia and London in the highest levels of public relations, government and journalism.

With her passion for communication and a commitment to achieving outstanding results for clients, Nicole has built her client base at Hunter to include some of the State’s biggest brands and companies, including SGIO, AGL, Coles, Thermomix, Perth Airport, Department of Transport, CBRE and Vicinity Shopping Centres.

Along with managing strategic communications issues, Nicole has advised on numerous ‘front page’ media issues, crisis management and recovery, and brand reputation and management.  

Nicole’s highly-driven and energetic personality, combined with her flair for language and creativity, has seen her build a solid reputation across the media, political and corporate worlds of Perth.

A highly experienced and results-driven communications manager, Nicole brings the same energy and passion that has made her a multi award-winner and leader in her field to every job and every client.

Outside of Hunter Nicole has served on the boards of Perth Zoo, Lifeline, Australia Day Council and Perth Convention Bureau.



Account Director


A strategic and creative thinker, Kieran has more than a decade of consumer PR experience. With a passion for creative marketing and communications, she enjoys connecting brands with consumers and loves the challenge of making them stand out in a highly competitive market. 

She has delivered campaigns, events, experiential and digital executions for major national brands including SGIO, AGL, Coles, Brownes Dairy, Dulux, City of Fremantle and McDonald's. 

Kieran has a reputation for setting the bar high when it comes to proactive client service and delivering results. Coupled with enthusiasm, she brings a well-rounded and refined set of skills to the Hunter Communications team. From strategy development to media relations, managing events, influencer engagement, social media management and event marketing and publicity, nothing is too difficult for her as she works closely with clients to tailor brand messages that deliver results. With an eye for crafting newsworthy angles, she excels in achieving quality coverage for her clients across television, radio, print and digital media. 

Kieran is highly organised and this is evident in the effective way she manages client accounts. She was the Account Manager for the successful launch of McDonald's first Burger Bar in Western Australia which was Highly Commended at the 2016 PRIA Golden Target Awards. 




Account Director

Simone is a bubbly and engaging communications expert with 14 years of experience in the industry ranging from the highest levels of journalism at the BBC in London, to working as a Senior Media Advisor for the Western Australian State Government.

A journalist at heart, Simone is strongly attuned to the elements required to make a successful story, and is skilled in event management, stakeholder engagement, press office work and government relations.

Clients who have benefitted from her strategic and meticulous communication strategies, include Perth Airport, the Department of Transport, the National Trust WA, and vegetablesWA. 

While excelling in corporate communications, Simone loves the opportunity to get creative and incorporate digital and social elements to her strategies. Clients love Simone’s holistic approach and ability to bring in creative consumer elements to corporate work.  

Other Hunter clients to benefit from Simone’s enthusiasm and professionalism include Cedar Woods, Webb and Brown-Neaves and Aegis Aged Care. 

Prior to Hunter, Simone’s experience includes working as a print and television news journalist covering breaking news live on air, to providing media and crisis communication advice to senior Government Ministers.




With almost two decades of experience in journalism, public relations and marketing, Tess Fisher is a creative and strategic communications professional.

Her warm, calm and considered approach has seen her excel in engaging with people from all walks of life. Tess' diverse range of corporate and consumer experience includes managing destination PR for the South Australian Tourism Commission, leading national communications and PR for Yalumba - one of Australia's largest privately-owned wineries - and managed marketing and communications for the West Australian Swimming Association.

Throughout her career, Tess has worked with a wide variety of clients and sectors, including Westport: Port and Environs Strategy, City of Belmont, Town of Claremont and St Stephen's College.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, a keen eye for a strong storyline and a natural ability to bring businesses together in mutually beneficial relationships, Tess enjoys working closely with clients to devise and implement creative and effective communications strategies.


Account Manager

Elisabeth is a senior PR and communications professional with strong international experience gained from working across several European markets. 

As a social media native, Elisabeth is an advocate for looking beyond traditional media outlets to increase awareness for her clients, recognising the role social media influencers play, and the power they have to influence through authenticity and curation.

Since joining Hunter in 2016, Elisabeth led the re-positioning of Perth Racing social media through a creative digital strategy, which attracted a younger demographic to Spring Racing Carnival and saw some sensational social media results from the campaigns. She also project managed and led the successful launch of DFO in the WA market in 2017. Elisabeth’s other valued clients include Coles, Vicinity Centres, Perth Racing, SPEQS and Defence Housing Australia. 

Elisabeth brings dedication and a varied set of skills to the Hunter team, including strategy development, media relations, event and influencer management. 

Before joining Hunter, Elisabeth worked at CCA/The Coca-Cola Company´s digital hub in London, delivering insights and driving strategy on a range of global campaigns, including Share-a-Coke, FIFA World Cup and The Sochi Olympics. Other experience includes events company Momentium AS, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and the charity Sport for Freedom. 


Account Manager

Gemma is an approachable communications all-rounder with a particular penchant for the written word. Joining Hunter in 2018, Gemma provides strategic communications advice and tactics for Coles, the newly redeveloped Mandurah Forum and Perth’s first DFO. Curious and personable in her approach, Gemma works closely with clients to deliver innovative and creative corporate and internal communications, events, social media, branding and media strategy. 

Gemma has proven experience in providing calm, considered and effective issues management, honing her skills at Department of Fisheries where she managed shark-related incidents and fatalities. Gemma has an eye for detail and the ability to understand the varied perspectives of client stakeholders, providing strategic advice and communications to Synergy, Raw Hire, Southern Cross Austereo and Rio Tinto across her career.



Senior PR Associate 

Rebecca Uglow is an experienced and enthusiastic Senior PR Associate who has worked across a broad range of corporate and consumer clients. She has built strong working relationships with key consumer and lifestyle media contacts across television, radio, print and online, which has helped generate high profile media coverage for her clients. 

Rebecca’s strong media relations have benefited DFO, Coles, SGIO and Cedar Woods. She is also skilled in social media influencer engagement and has worked on integrated campaigns involving social media, media relations and event management – playing a key role in executing the brief for AGL’s Telethon BBQ. 

It is her passion for travel, hospitality, fashion and lifestyle and the ever-changing media environment that keeps her excited about the PR industry and at the forefront of innovative and creative ideas. Her strong organisational skills, relationships with WA media and enthusiasm makes her a valuable member of the Hunter team. 

Rebecca graduated from Curtin University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Commerce and a double major in Marketing and Public Relations. 



Since joining Hunter in 2017, Genevieve has established herself as a vivacious and creative team member. Her enthusiasm for social media, content creation, audience engagement and brand activation gives our clients a valued competitive edge.

Playing a key supporting role in activations for AGL, SGIO and 140 Perth, Genevieve’s logistical, professional and strategic assistance is second to none. 

Previously supporting the entire Hunter client and staff base as the PR coordinator, Genevieve’s diverse skill set has seen her support the National Trust of Western Australia, Otherside Brewing Co., Vicinity Shopping Centres, Thermomix and Perth Theatre Trust. 

Genevieve graduated from Curtin University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Commerce and a double major in Public Relations and Event Management. Her previous work experience includes Australian fashion, organic skincare and the public sector.



Julieanne joined Hunter in 2018 and provides invaluable support to our clients and staff alike.. Enthusiastic, organised and approachable, Julianne provides the behind the scenes support that ensures all Hunter projects are developed and delivered smoothly.

She has broad experience working within many facets of broadcast media, having spent a number of years at Fairfax Media and Australian Radio Network. She is particularly skilled in pulling together multiple components of events, activations and campaigns for seamless delivery.

Julieanne has successfully coordinated integrated campaigns and activations with major WA and national brands, including Crown, TAB, Harvey Norman, Spudshed and West Coast Eagles.

Corporate Affairs

City of Canning:

Hunter have worked with the City of Canning on multiple projects in 2016, providing high level strategic communications counsel as the organisation repositions itself as a dynamic metropolitan regional council.

Our team has worked closely with the City’s CEO and marketing team to develop and implement high level communications strategies.

As part of the implementation, we oversaw the design and production of a city prospectus, video fly-through, website, video, Government briefing papers and media engagement plan.

St John Ambulance WA:

St John Ambulance (SJA) is one of the most established and recognisable brands in WA, providing first aid services more than 120 years. The acquisition of four GP clinics in June from Apollo Health with a view to evolve to Urgent Care Centres needed strategic stakeholder mapping and engagement. Hunter worked with the SJA project team to develop a strategy that mapped out every stakeholder from Government to volunteers across WA and exactly how they would be communicated to and when.  Tactics included CEO video messages, social strategies, FAQs, open letters, Ministerial briefings and multiple staff briefings to accommodate the 24/7 ambulance and call centre rosters. The result was widespread support for the announcement – one of the biggest changes to the SJA business in its history. 

Mandurah Forum:

Vicinity Centres engaged Hunter to provide public relations, issues management and stakeholder engagement support for the launch and construction of their $350m Mandurah Forum shopping centre redevelopment.  Hunter developed and implemented a strategy for the launch event which was officiated by the Hon. Premier of WA.  We have continued to support the client throughout the redevelopment, working closely with local media to help generate community support and excitement for the development throughout its construction.

Western Power:

Hunter Communications provides media, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, brand and marketing support to Western Power’s communications team to manage the utility’s corporate reputation.  This service includes Nicole taking on the challenging role of Head of Stakeholder and Communications.  As a member of the organisation’s Senior Leadership Team, she provides strategic communications to support the State’s major electricity distribution and transmission industry.

Mayfair Lane:

Media coverage and social media influencer support is critical for the opening of a new restaurant. Hunter was engaged by West Perth gastro pub Mayfair Lane to manage traditional and social media. The Hunter team worked closely with food and wine journalists and social media influencers in Perth, organising exclusive digital influencer long table dinners, media interviews, food reviews as well as managing media at the launch party. In total, Hunter secured 15 print, online and blog articles and 50 social media mentions. Coverage included in influential publications such as The West, Urban List, The Social Pages, Good Food of Perth, Morsels and Broadsheet Perth and a positive review in the The West Australian. 

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Perth Racing :

The 2016 Ascot Racing Carnival was transformed by the introduction of the $3 million TABtouch Masters, a world-first event becoming a major feature of Australia’s racing and events calendar.

Perth Racing engaged Hunter to develop and implement a social media strategy for the Carnival, focussed on connecting a younger generation of racegoers with the sport by visually showing the full range of experiences to enjoy at Ascot.

The strategy resulted in a successful launch of three new social platforms and an increase in followers and engagement across existing platforms. The Perth Racing Facebook page increased engagement by 352%, the Snapchat filter was viewed over 104,000 times and over 1,600 patrons jumped on the hashtag #AscotGoodTimes, sharing their Ascot experience. 

Perth Royal Wine Show:

Hunter helped the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) raise the profile of the 2016 Perth Royal Wine Show by leveraging the attendance of Master of Wine Sarah Jane Evans and connect the show with a wider audience through social media. 

To generate excitement about the award on social media, Hunter invited food and wine social media influencers to an intimate wine tasting with the world renowned judge. RAS provided influencers with some insight into the award and the judging process, before Sarah-Jane Evans hosted a tasting of her favourites from the show. The social media influencers were all provided with tasting notes, background information and RAS social media handles. The event resulted in widespread social media coverage, making over 88,000 impressions and over 1,600 pieces of engagement. 

Racing and Wagering WA:

Nicole was engaged by RWWA to develop the agency’s corporate social responsibility strategy.  A strategy covering the organisation’s people, reputation, community, environment and governance was developed and then implemented.  A key component was the management of the organisation’s $1million philanthropic program under which more than 50 community partnerships were formed with not-for-profit community groups across Western Australia. Nicole was responsible for developing the sponsorship program, managing and then leveraging the sponsorship.

Lifeline WA:

Hunter was sought by Lifeline WA to develop a strategy to reinvigorate its annual Christmas appeal, Lights for Lifeline.  The solution, light up Elizabeth Quay with Perth’s biggest Christmas tree to create a centrepiece for the campaign.  The tree was adorned with 55,000 lights, representing every Western Australian who reached out to the charity for help in 2016. Hunter gathered some of Perth’s best creative and event manager to bring the campaign to life. The appeal raised more than $200,000 throughout December.
